Application Principle of Fresnel Lens in Projection System

The Fresnel lens is a branch of the lens. Compared with other lenses, it has the advantages of small size, light weight, compact structure, good condensing and imaging performance, not inferior to other lenses, so it is defensive. It is widely used in various fields such as aviation, aerospace, industrial production and civil fields.

Ⅰ. Advantages of Fresnel lens in projection system

It is through focusing or adjusting the light to increase and enhance the brightness of the display. If the collimating lens is eliminated, a lot of light will be lost when passing through the panel, and significant heat will appear on the display. The dot effect reduces the brightness around the display. In addition, on the other side of the LCD screen, we must also focus the light from the panel into the projector lens. It can increase the brightness of the Fresnel lens before viewing the screen.

Ⅱ. Fresnel lens can be used for projector display

Fresnel lenses have proven to be the preferred application in projection systems, and their role is to collimate and focus light. The Fresnel lens adjusts the beam source emitted by the light source to parallel light, which significantly increases the brightness around the display panel, eliminates the sun's spot effect, thereby improving the overall display brightness uniformity. Fresnel lens is usually used with other display elements together such as cylindrical mirrors.

The positive focal length lens forms a virtual upright image. The Fresnel lens magnifier is an ultra-thin magnifier. And it is mainly made of transparent plexiglass.

The Fresnel lens magnifier is made of PVC, and the minimum thickness can be between 0.45mm~0.90mm. Unlike ordinary magnifying glasses, its surface is covered with tiny stripes and contains many convex lenses in its spiral stripes. Reference ring is that the light passing through it is bent to produce a diffraction phenomenon, thereby forming a magnified image. Fresnel lenses are characterized by higher brightness and flat surface than ordinary lenses as well as a large radiation area.

Generally, the diameter of ordinary meniscus lenses is very limited, and Fresnel lenses play a very good role in the field of magnifiers, achieving effects that ordinary lenses cannot achieve. The current Fresnel lens magnifier is only 0.45mm thick, which is convenient to carry. In fact, the main function is to reduce the weight of ordinary plexiglass and traditional glass magnifiers.
